| 内容記述 | 本稿では、スカイプ英会話を短期大学の英語コミュニケーション学科正規科目に導入した英語教育の調査結果を紹介する。３つの選択科目の授業内で学生は、フィリピン人講師と25 分間の1対1 の英会話に毎時間参加した。この取り組みの目的は、学生のスピーキングによるコミュニケーションの自信と習熟度を上げることであった。学生は、授業について高い満足度を示した。質問紙調査の結果、「第二言語コミュニケーションの自信」に関わる項目で、事後に平均が有意に高まっていることが明らかになった（p<.01）。この結果について、インタビュー調査の質的データと合わせて、さらなる分析を行った。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | The current study investigates the implementation of Skype-based video chat in three regular elective English courses for junior college students majoring in English, who engaged in twenty-five-minute one-on-one Skype video lessons with Filipino instructors in every 90-minute class per term. The aim of this activity was to increase students’c onfidence and proficiency in oral communication. The students reported great satisfaction with the lessons. Questionnaires and interviews were administered for data analysis. Quantitative analysis of attitudes indicated that the difference at the beginning and the end of the study concerning L2 communication confidence was statistically significant at p<.01, whose implication was further explored in detail employing responses of open-ended questions and interviews. | |||||
