Consequently, in the 2020 academic year, the number of days university students attended in person classes decreased significantly, with nearly half of the students attending less than once a week. This study investigated whether this reduction in in-person attendance affected the formation of friendships and development of social skills among university students, particularly those who began their studies in 2020. The findings indicate that students who entered university in 2020 had fewer opportunities to interact with peers, fewer friends, and lower social skills compared to students who entered in other years. This study demonstrates that the frequency of in-person attendance influences the formation of friendships and development of social skills. Additionally, the establishment of appropriate human relationships within educational institutions impacts several factors related to educational effectiveness.
