| 内容記述 | 「カナダ英語」は、世界の英語の枠組みにおいて、カナダで標準的に使用されるとする「標準カナダ英語（Standard Canadian English）」を指す。しかし実際には、カナダで使用される英語は多様である。本研究は、カナダ英語をカナダで使用される英語と捉え、カナダ英語形成の経緯を移民の流入と合わせて踏まえた上で、標準カナダ英語、様々な地域方言、民族や世代といった社会方言の言語学的特徴を、音韻・音声、語彙、文法、綴字、談話標識の点から記述した。そして、カナダで使用される英語とは、標準カナダ英語を中心としつつも、多様な地域方言と社会方言を含む、多様性を内在する英語変種であることを示した。言語的な多様性は、文化的アイデンティティの多様性と結びつく。多文化主義を国是とするカナダの多文化性を発展させるためにも、地域方言や社会方言に関する研究をさらに進めることが今後は求められる。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | “Canadian English” refers to “Standard Canadian English”, which is considered as the standard and general English variety used by Canadians within the framework of World Englishes. However, the English used in Canada is actually diverse. This study considers Canadian English as the English used in Canada. Examining the historical development of Canadian English alongside immigration flows, it describes the linguistic features of Standard Canadian English, various regional dialects, and sociolects（ e.g., ethnic dialects and generation dialects） from the perspectives of phonology/phonetics, vocabulary, syntactic structure/ morphology, spelling, and discourse markers. It demonstrates that the English used in Canada is an English variety that inherently possesses diversity, centered on standard Canadian English but encompassing diverse regional dialects and sociolects. Linguistic diversity is linked to the diversity of cultural identities. To further develop Canada's multiculturalism, which is a national policy, further research on regional English dialects and English sociolects is required in the future. | |||||
