Various food ingredients and nutritional elements were added to the culture medium and their effects were analyzed. Secretion and accumulation of collagen was decreased depending on the duration of ultraviolet-irradiation. The addition of collagen peptides increased the secretion of collagen into the medium. Following the addition of resveratrol, the main functional polyphenol of red wine, membrane-bound collagen was decreased, collagen secretion into the medium was increased, and gene expression of collagen-I, collagen-II, and collagenase was increased.
