This textbook has two-volumes and it has 16 chapters in total; for example, household economics, food science, clothes, aged person’s life, and rules of decorum, etc. We try to interpret the original article in the authentic way and the main findings are as follows;\n　1) The fortune of household will be accumulated by cutting down on an unnecessary expenditure, keeping track of their family budget in detail, and being well-organized their home.\n　2) The most important thing for housewives is to consider the good health of family members, and to arrange food which has rich nutrients and easy to digest.\n　3) In the chapter of clothes, the author explains first the purpose of wear, to adapt natural and social circumstances in changing Meiji era. Sections describe clothing materials, choosing dress, sewing daily wear, clothes preservation, and formal dress.\n　4) Hoping for a healthy life for aged person, considerations about a daily life, such as living, mobility and care related to clothing, food and housing are described in a fairly practical way.
