It is to clarify the classes’ characteristics. In Noya’s class, works that belonged to Western music were sung with Japanese lyrics, and the original songs included many folk songs, traditional songs, art songs, and opera arias. In addition, students were able to learn music theory through singing songs that were devised to cover commonly used time signatures and tones, and considered to fit within the mezzosoprano range so that they could be easily sung.
