This paper analyzes the TV drama “Omameda Towako and the Three Ex-Husbands” (Omameda Towako to Sannin no Moto Otto) from the perspective of gender, and examines how the working women are depicted in the latest TV dramas, identifying three salient features (reality in an unrealistic setting, resistance to unreasonable power, and breaking away from the “Cinderella complex”).
