| 内容記述 | 英語があまり好きではない、あるいは自信がない学生の英語コミュニケーション能力を高めるには、英語学習への動機づけを高めることが重要ではないだろうか。そのためにはまず学習者の情意フィルターを下げて英語授業への参加を促し、英語学習への興味を引き出したい。本研究では、学習者の自律を促すとされる協働学習を英語運用能力の異なる2 つのIntegrated English（IE ）のクラスに導入し、半期の間に学生たちの英語学習に対する態度や認識がどう変化したかについて自由記述を含む質問紙による調査を行い、その効果を検証した。その結果、英語運用能力にかかわらず意見交換を楽しむなど協働学習の効果がある程度確認された。ただし、英語運用能力の高いクラスでは学習内容に対する理解が深まり動機づけにまでつなげることができたが、英語運用能力の低いクラスでは学習意欲を高めるにとどまった。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | Previous research has shown that collaborative learning (CL) can promote autonomous learning attitudes (Tsuda, 2013). In this study, in order to promote English communication skills of weaker English learners, the effectiveness of CL was investigated in two Integrated English (IE) classes in which English proficiency and interest levels were considerably different. The aim of this article is to show the effects of CL after one semester by conducting a questionnaire about CL and their English learning attitudes including a free comment column. Comparative analysis shows that as a result of CL, both classes enjoyed sharing their views about the topics and helping each other. However, students with higher English proficiency were motivated to learn by applying critical thinking skills. On the other hand, students with lower English proficiency showed only enhanced willingness to learn, but no improvement in critical thinking skills or autonomous learning attitude. | |||||
