| 内容記述 | 本稿では，短期大学1 年生が一般英語科目において書いたエッセイの中でfluencyが伸びた学生を対象として，1）英文の構成，2）accuracy，3）contents の深化の3観点からライティング力の変化を調査し，アンケートにより学生自身が感じた変化の要因を検証した。本科目では，国際教育ネットワークへの英文投稿を最終目標として，論理的思考の指導や日本語と英語の構造の違いを学ぶ「英語発想」の指導など，多角的にライティング力の質を高める指導を行った。こうした準備段階における日本語を介した指導が学生のライティングの質にどのように生かされたかの分析を試みる。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This study explored how the quality of essays has changed in a general English class. Thirty-seven essays, which improved in fluency, were investigated in terms of three points of view: 1）structure of essay, 2）accuracy, and 3）indepth and impressive contents. Furthermore, students’ ideas about their own improvement were examined by questionnaires. The final goal of this class is to post English essays on the International Education and Resource Network（iEARN）. To post their essays on this site, students learned various types of strategies for good writing, such as logical thinking, awareness of language differences between Japanese and English, and so on. Japanese（L1）was used in pre-writing and brainstorming, and the effects of such instructions on the students’ quality of writing were analyzed. |
