| 内容記述 | 日本の少子化については、特に1990年代から社会問題として関心を集め、労働力の減少や社会保障負担の増加が課題となっている。出生率の低下は先進国共通の現象であるが、さまざまな社会経済制度が女性の経済的地位上昇に対応できていない国では特に急速である。日本では、雇用慣行が仕事と子育てを両立する障害となっている。短時間就業が拡大すると同時に待遇均衡化が進むことが最も効果的な子育て支援策となり、人的資源を通じた経済成長にも貢献することになる。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | The rapid decline of births in Japan has been a subject of social concern particularly since the 1990s, due to its large influence on labor supply and social security. Although decline in birth rate is common in developed countries, it is severer in societies where socio-economic institutions do not accommodate to the rise in economic position of women. In Japan, labor practices of long-term employment and seniority wage have been the obstacles to reconciling work and childcare. If short-time employment is established in work places with equal pay for men and women, and equal pay for equal value of work, notwithstanding full-time or part-time employment, it will be a strong childcare support, and contribute to economic growth through human capital. | |||||
