| 内容記述 | The authors employed a VHX-8000 high-resolution microscope to identify the raw materials in the paper structure of "The Tale of Genji" (Tamaya) and to analyze the paper quality, focusing on the search for the "tsure" of Tamaya. The presence of rice starch as a filler was also identified.The original "Genji-maki" by Tameie Fujiwara comprises 46 detached sheets from a Yamato-style bound scroll. To explore the paper quality of this material, high-resolution scanner images were analyzed to examine the structural formation resulting from "nagashizuki" during wash papermaking and to identify the orientation angle of the ligament fibers. Cluster analysis of the orientation angle data revealed four dictinct clusters. The specificity of the fourth cluster was further verified by analyzing the surface structure of the paper utilizing diverse measurement functions of the VHX-8000. Additionally, the effects of paper processing and fillers on the surface structure were considered. |
