内容記述 | In 2007, I published a paper which described how I had taught the various patterns of English sounds to three different groups of Japanese English learners, using three simplified symbols which represent what different speech sounds are made, with the results that all three groups had made progress. Through the training, it became less difficult for them to catch every English word in short sentences which had sounded one long words to them before they received the training. In this paper, I describe a more efficient impact of a short-term, one-on-one training for developing English listening skills conducted in 2007, 2008, 2009. Applying the same visual approach to natural speed English, the one-on-one training produced better results in a shorter period of time in comparison with the group training, which was helpful to save participants' time and therefore, to encourage them to be more motivated and more willing to learn. Giving individual training to participants makes it clear that what types of problems each has and that their workload is lightened. | |||||
