| 内容記述 | この研究の目的は、現代の成熟社会にふさわしい生活文化を築くための教養教育のあり方について考察することにある。著者は、はじめに、西洋の伝統の教養教育の意味について捉える。そこでは、古典と教養が密接に結びついていることを確認する。その上で、教養教育の教材として、ダンテ『神曲』と紫式部『源氏物語』という二つの偉大な古典をとりあげ、次の観点からその価値を考察する。1)古典は、人間の本質とともに、文化の伝統を踏んだ母語の大切さについて教えてくれるものである、2)古典の中の言葉と芸術作品の間には深い関わりがある、3)古典の言葉は、現代の暮らしの創造にインスピレーションを与えてくれる力を持つ。最後に、著者は、日本の伝統における、ある教育スタイルについて取り上げる。それは、日本人の根源的な魂を孕む優れた古典の物語や和歌を語ることによって高貴な子女の心を育むという方法である。結論は、古典をいかに魅力的に生き生きと伝え、分かちあうかを工夫することが非常に重要だということである。現代の技術革新が生み出したマルチメディアやインターネットを活用した教材などは、そのために有効な手だてとなるであろう。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | The aim of this study is to consider the concepts of liberal education, which promote our quality of life in mature post-industrial society. At first, the author tries to grasp the meaning of liberal education in Western World, which is indispensable to study classical literature. Then the author pays special attention to two great classical literatures, i.e., The Divine Comedy by Dante and The Tale of Genji by Lady Murasaki, as the best works for liberal education. The author discusses about the values of them from such view points; 1) they can teach us the universal human nature as well as the importance of mother tongue filled with the cultural heritages, 2) they can show us the relationships between the words in classics and the works of fine arts, 3) they can tell us the power of classics to inspire individual modern lifestyle. At last, the author points out an education style in the Japanese tradition, which matured the noble women's mind by telling the best classical stories and wakas holding the Japanese fundamental soul. The conclusion is that it is very important to think out how to present and share the classics attractively and lively. The modern teaching materials by technological investigations, e.g., multi-media and IT contents, may be helpful for them. | |||||
